In 1947 a young communications engineer, Jim Rogers, founded the business that bears his name to this day, rapidly establishing it as a respected and innovative manufacturer of high quality audio equipment. From early mono valve amplifiers were developed, first, stereo valve amplifiers and subsequently, with the advent of the transistor, landmark hi-fi products including the Ravensbourne and Ravensbrook stereo amplifiers and tuners.
With industry focus then turning to loudspeaker technology, the BBC's own quest for improved studio monitors led the company to take up a licence for the now legendary LS3/5a reference monitor, of which it has now manufactured and distributed worldwide over 50,000 pairs.
Continuing product development ever since has resulted in countless award-winning designs including, more recently, the coveted Innovations '97 Award of the Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Association of America for the revolutionary and highly innovative db101, combining form and function in a totally state of the art product of unique sonic and aesthetic distinction.
More conventional in appearance, yet still reflecting its total commitment to material technology research, Rogers has been the first to harness the remarkable properties of carbon fibre to the service of the audiophile, offering this in the equally refined real wood veneered cabinets of the new Avanti Series.
Now, true to Jim Rogers' founding ideals, the company celebrates its 50th Anniversary with the superb new Gold Series, offering the outstanding musical performance of Rogers high quality engineering in elegant cabinetry and at affordable prices.
